2008–2013

The Still is one of the foremost single-artist institutions in the world. The building is a collection of galleries, conservation spaces and archives, with a focus on education and experiential connection to the work.

Developing the design concept required extensive research into the life of the artist, the cities and landscapes in which he lived, and their influence on his evolving body of work.

These insights were enfolded into the design process, and shared with the clients through presentation books, concept models, and other visualization methods.

Each of these works required a thoughtful response to the space, occasion, or opportunity at hand. Internal teams were formed to develop core concepts and conduct intensive cycles of research and investigation to add depth and resolution to the project.

Modeling, prototyping, and in some instances, final fabrication were completed in-house. On other projects, our teams worked closely with artists, craftspeople, fabricators, and installers to deliver the final piece. .
